Guided by sensors, smart drones will be able to carry out tasks independently and work together in ‘swarms’. The new drone generation will be fitted out with high res cameras, night vision, microphones and sniffers. They’ll have applications in security-related areas like search and rescue, crowd control and bomb detection.
Lucas van Oostrum's Hague-based company Aerialtronics works at the cutting edge of unmanned aircraft systems. The company produces drones used in fields ranging from security, to mapping, to TV and film.
